Hi Everyone! Lovely to be with you, and particular greetings to folks I've worked with before. I'm looking forward to working with everybody here. I'm an associate professor in Foreign Language Education at Florida International University in Miami. I've been enjoying the new stuff all bundled up in this online set of courses. I've got a website generated at http://www.fiu.edu/~dwyere including a link to some blog elements I did through these courses this past summer. My goal for this semester is to add detail into a set of resources on this web page that will help teacher candidates in my classes to organize and enhance their own teaching talents.

And like you, I am also in this class (my 5th)to hone my technical skills. I look forward to work with you all.

Hi, I’m Simon, it’s nice to catch up with you all again. I am originally from England but now live in Monaco. This will be my fourth online Tesol course, I’ve really enjoyed all the courses so far and I look forward to this one. I am a freelance teacher, my students are French or Italian Adults who work in Monaco and need English to communicate with clients from all over the world. At this present time I’m not teaching online, but hope to start creating material to put in my empty Moodle CMS!

Hello, it is nice to see some familiar names on the classlist. This is my fifth class in program and I feel like I've learned a lot of interesting things to use in my classes. I work at St. Mary College in Nagoya, Japan. It is a small college specializing in academic English for students who want to study abroad. I have also taught at the Colorado State University Intensive English Program and Hiroshima University. I use class pages on the Colorado State University Writing Studio webpage (writing.colostate.edu/) to incorporate online learning and regular classroom activities in my higher level writing classes and I've created paperless listening activities that students access from a webpage I created (http://www.geocities.com/wendy_gough/wendy.html?1180842129548).

Hello all, I'm finally getting some time to catch up. I see many familiar names and faces, as well. I have been teaching ESL for 20yrs or so, the last 12 at University of California, Irvine, Extension, and the first 9 or so in Athens, Greece (where I met my husband). I am concurrently enrolled in two certification courses for online teaching: this series through TESOL, and Cerro Coso Community College's Faculty Certification for Online Teaching - I think I've done close to ten classes in the past 5 months! I am interested in finding a way to move into the online world, as I am seeking more flexibility in my scheduling, and hopefully, someday, someway, more pay...but that is another story.. As I said, I am married, and I have 6- (soon to be 7-) year-old twins (boy/girl). I am also working on a class to be presented in the spring using Moodle. I find Moodle very interesting, but a bit frustrating. I like wiki's better. This wiki says that my ip address has been flagged for spam, so it won't let me upload a photo... You'll have to use your imaginations. Note, I have tried again and again to upload my photo, and it won't let me...

Hello to everyone. It's nice to see some familiar names and "faces"! I have been teaching ESL for 16 years and have a Masters in Applied Linguistics. I teach English to foreign military officers and civilians from around the world who work in Ministries of Defence or Foreign Affairs.I have taught all levels, but at the moment I am developing a new curriculum program. We teach some programs online and this appears to be the direction the Ministry of Defence wants to take in the future. I am very interested in both the topic of learning vocabulary and the current research being carried out on the subject. I also love teaching grammar. So I am excited about this course and look forward to discovering some great internet sites that can be used by both teachers and students.

Hello everyone. I started these classes almost 1.5 years ago and I am determined to finish by next year. I am currently the Director and Curriculum designer for a small language school in Battle Cree, Mi. The name of the school is Battle Creek Language and Culture Center www.bclanguageculture.com. I have taught some programs online and I want to learn more so that I can do more. I look forward to working and chatting with all of you.

Hi everyone, I'm sorry to be entering the class so late. This semester has been real hectic for me. My Korean name is Sae-sil Kwon, I usually go by my English name Cecily. I teach English at Seoul Institute of the Arts, which is an arts college in Korea. I've been teaching English for 19 years and I'm enjoying it very much. I've taught all ages although right now, it's mostly college students. I have a website for my class where students put up their homework, their pictures (if they want to), and I use it to put up announcements and sometimes chat with students. I hope to learn to teach grammar and vocab on line because our class time is so limited. It's nice to be here learning new things.

Hello everyone. Extremely glad to be part of this professional development community again. It's also my fifth course in the PP program. So Eric we're running parallel learning lives:) Many thanks Dafne and Teresa for your warm welcome messages. I learnt a lot from you and with you in Becoming a Webhead and I'm sure this will be a very rich experience as well. For those who don't know me yet, I run a private language school in Buenos Aires, Argentina. We teach people in business both face to face and online. For the online programs we focus on ESP courses and we design using Moodle and a number of other tools that integrate well into this platform. So I would really like to grab this chance to build an informed, creative approach to teaching vocabulary and grammar online since both are vital components in our ESP virtual courses.

Hi everyone! I recognize a lot of the names in the course, and I'm excited to be able to work with all of you again. I'm also looking forward to a team taught course and am anxious to hear more about how such a course is managed!! (I'm also intrigued by the Webheads business...) At the moment I am working as TESOL Coordinator on a higher ed improvement project with Afghanistan, but I have 20 years experience as an ESL instructor, all levels, all skills, with lots of content driven elective courses in the mix as well. I'm looking forward to learning more about online teaching in general (there's always so much to learn, and I often feel like I have to learn everything all over again each time I take a course--eventually it should stick, right?).

Hi. It is great to be again with a group of learners. I have been a teacher and teacher trainer for more than 20 years. I have a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Virginia. I am coordinating the language program of the Inter-American Development Bank in Washington, DC. We teach English, Spanish, Portuguese and French to the staff members who need those languages for their work. The largest program is the Portuguese one. Most of the staff speak English and Spanish. We do almost no online teaching. There are projects in our office to offer some online courses and I am very interested in offering online support. I created a webpage in the first course that I took and a course site using Moodle in the last one. In the future, once I retire from the Bank, I would like to do both online and f2f teaching of the languages that I have taught - 10 years French, 10+ English and Spanish - which I have never taught.

Hi! My name is Lori and I live in New York City. I’ve been an English teacher for 3 years. I’ve taught at language schools in both Veracruz, Mexico, and NYC. I have a TESOL certificate from Columbia University, and just last week I finished my TESOL master’s degree at New York University. I’m going to stay and work in New York for a while, though I don’t have a job YET. My goal is to move abroad, most likely to Latin America. All of my teaching experience so far has been traditional classroom instruction. I’m taking this certificate course to improve my computer and teaching skills.

Hi All. Glad to be back in the TESOL online courses. I teach ESL/freshman composition at Penn State-Abington and University of the Arts. I'm also teaching public speaking at Abington. Also, I am teaching an online grammar/writing course. I'm glad to continue working on online grammar teaching, but I'm even more eager to develop online teaching skills related to vocabulary.

Hey y'all. I'm not teaching ESL, but working on “from the ground up” language program development at a university (since our institution is 2 years young). So, the professional development from being among TESOLers has been invigorating in the first three courses. I just finished administering and teaching a summer bridge pilot program – an intensive initiation to academic discourse conventions for Generation 1.5 students. I was able to incorporate many of the skills I’d gained from PP100 & PP109 into the course web site & wiki – and continue to use some in the science writing course. I look forward to the grammar & vocab. skills I can add to these programs and the development that's been going on at http://homepage.mac.com/maryssmith
